A retainer is money held in our trust account which is also regulated by the New Hampshire Bar Association. Each month we will send you a detailed, itemized statement of your account. You will be kept fully informed.

Once your initial retainer has been paid we do offer client’s the option of billing their credit card each month. An authorization will be required to bill a credit card in full each month.

The time your case will take from beginning to end depends on many variables; the Court, client and other parties schedules, issues/matters not agreed upon by the parties, how quickly and completely the parties exchange financial and other documents, whether appraisals of assets such as a business, personal property, real estate, or retirement assets should be done to enhance your share, whether the schedule for exercising parenting time with your children is in dispute and whether other details regarding your children’s lives and welfare are in dispute.

We do offer mediation and are happy to discuss this option with you. An attorney may only represent one party during a mediation. Mediation requires a neutral third person as the mediator. If you feel that you and the other party will be able to reach an amicable solution, I do offer mediation services however I cannot meet with only one party. The initial appointment and all subsequent appointments must be conducted with both parties present. We also attend mediation with our client because the mediator is not your advocate and it is important that you have someone in your corner to take care of you and look out for your best interest.
